Bands Of Venus
I was on my way home from the small town of Geary, Oklahoma, when I realized the small pond that I had passed many times would be a near perfect mirror. I raced to the location, as the Sun had already set, and I knew that twilight was near. There was a slight breeze, just enough to make the reflection in the water slightly blurred. Within minutes of setting up my composition, the sky colors turned those vibrant colors that only happen at or near twilight. Five minutes later, the scene was flat and lifeless.
Chance favors the prepared mind, and in this case, I had looked at this place so many times that I knew the scene by heart. It had been waiting for that one moment, the moment when I knew it was time.
