The Slough Again
This is one of my favorite places to go and contemplate why I take photographs. There is something magical about this location, whether morning or evening doesn't seem to matter. I never tire of just sitting and watching the play of light on the canyon wall and the water. This time of year, the pond is covered with intense bright green duckweed which is very pleasing to the eye. Words fail to describe the feeling of serenity. One just has to go there, and then you will know what I mean.
On this morning, I found a different vantage point from which to create this image. The 'cacti opuntia' lent a nice foreground subject to lead one's eye down into the slough.
After creating a color version, I felt that this photograph would make a wonderful Black & White image because of the detail the early morning light offered. The image was processed in Lightroom 4, then converted in Silver FX Pro 2.
I hope you enjoy the image as much as I enjoyed creating it. Thanks to all for taking the time to have a look.
