Every once in awhile, I come across one of those things that you just can't resist photographing. This stelae was placed at the entrance road to Mount Scott in the refuge many years ago. I don't know how many times that I have driven past it on my way to other points of interest, but one day I was on my way home, and I finally stopped to have a closer look.
I wandered around the thing in circles until I came up with a composition that presented it in the best light. The image in color had never been anything but a 'representative' shot of this spire of rock. A few nights ago, I came across the image for the umpteenth time, and thought, "what about B&W?".
