Road To Nowhere
'The path less traveled often reveals wonders unseen'
It is mid-morning and the Sun is trying to break through the dense cloud cover. We have come to this old bridge that crosses the North Fork of the Red River just south of Highway 62 in southwestern Oklahoma near the town of Headrick. Though the bridge appears to be in good shape and not yet past its usefulness, it was abandoned when Hwy 62 was made into 4 lanes many years ago.
The place has become a haunt for the young for there is refuse laying around, in particular empty shell casings from a variety of weapons and bits of broken amber colored glass from beer bottles.
